Sister Amy Hoey
Entered: September 2, 1952 – Manchester, New Hampshire
Current Ministry: Mercy family contact at Warde Health Center
Motto: Fiat (Let it be done)
As I think about it 65 years later, I didn't give much thought to what I would be doing as a Sister of Mercy. I was sure, though, that I wanted to be a Sister of Mercy. As Providence would have it, my ministries have had a common thread of preparing for the future. That was certainly true whether I was teaching third graders or undergraduates, and also in leadership as we prepared for the formation of the Institute. That goal also colored my years at the United States Catholic Conference of Bishops (USCCB), working on lay ecclesial ministry. My current ministry with our sisters in assisted living now gives me the opportunity to reflect on what lies before all of us.
