70-year Jubilarian

Entered: September 8, 1947 – Cumberland, Rhode Island

Current Ministry: Prayer ministry

Motto: In His weakness is my strength

Sister Jackie's life as a Sister of Mercy has included numerous experiences and opportunities for growth and service. In 1950, she began a teaching ministry that included students from the first grade through high school, and carried her from Rhode Island to Arizona. In the 70’s,  she found herself in a ministry of pastoral care in Kansas and later, Oklahoma, until 1985, when she returned to Rhode Island and accepted a position as a counselor at Talbot House, which provided substance-abuse treatment to people in need.

Most recently, Sister Jackie returned to Westerly, Rhode Island, where she grew up and attended Immaculate Conception, a Mercy grammar school. During this time, she assisted in the upkeep of the sisters’ Watch Hill house and its ministry of hospitality.
