Sister Katherine "Kay" Graber
Entered: September 8, 1957 – Albany, New York
Current Ministry: Consultant at St. Peter's Hospital Foundation
Motto: Lord, You know all things, You know that I love you
I have enjoyed a gifted life in Mercy and in our healing ministry at St. Peter's Hospital for 56 years. Two sayings of Catherine McAuley have been my mantras: "In the care of the sick, great tenderness above all things" and "Be cheerful, animating all around you." A sense of humor is a saving grace and is important in health care, where demands can be taxing. Our partners in ministry appreciate the sacredness of their work, yet also need to enjoy their service to others. My personal philosophy is: We go this way but once, let's do it graciously, generously, and have a good time.
