Motto: Do with me what Thou wilt
My biggest joy as a Sister of Mercy was to teach. I really loved and enjoyed the children. I started my religious life by teaching kindergarten in the projects of Providence, Rhode Island. Other than spending one year in a high school, I taught for 52 years in the lower grades. I've kept in touch with quite a few of my former students. Just the other day, I attended a party that a former first-grade student invited me to. My students were great kids and today they are wonderful adults. I have had a lot of happiness as a sister. I have also been very fortunate with my health, and was able to care for my roommate, Sister Judith Ward, when she was dying. That was a great joy in my life. I think God puts you where you are needed.
