Sister Maureen SadlierSister Maureen Sadlier

60-year Jubilarian

Entered: September 8, 1957 – Cumberland, Rhode Island

Current Ministry: Volunteer

Motto: In His will is my peace

Working with young children in elementary education for 36 years gave me a lot of joy as a Sister of Mercy. After that, I worked in the field of addiction for 15 years and found that to be very satisfying work. It was a tough job but I loved it. I'm a people person! It was very satisfying to help people to get their lives back together.

These days I volunteer at Re-Focus, Inc., in Providence, Rhode Island, tutoring adults who have physical and developmental disabilities, and at Mount St. Rita Health Centre in Cumberland, Rhode Island, where I visit residents. I find these ministries very rewarding. I've learned patience and compassion in a whole new way from working with people at both of these places. I feel privileged to be able to enrich their lives as they enrich mine!
