Sister Theresa Gottstein
Entered: September 8, 1947 – Albany, New York
Current Ministry: Prayer and letter ministry, food pantry volunteer
Motto: Domine, non mea voluntas, sed Tua fait (Lord, not my will but Thine be done)
I have complete "joy" and "trust" in God's will and forgiveness. I was injured in two auto accidents—one when I was 10 years old and one in 1996 when I was struck by an car as I was leaving work. Despite hospitalization and years of recovery, I was never angry and was able to forgive those who injured me.
In addition to volunteering with the food pantry at Blessed Sacrament Parish, I am a Eucharistic minister at the daily Masses at Mater Christi Parish, and I pray for and write to the seminarians in the Albany diocese. I keep in touch with them after they are ordained and send them notes on the anniversaries of their ordinations.
I have had a wonderful life as a Sister of Mercy. I just love my vocation!
