Current Ministry: Volunteer
Motto: He took her into his care!
My journey as a Sister of Mercy began after graduating from high school. On September 8, 1950, I entered the novitiate in Madison, Connecticut. After completing novitiate, I was sent out to teach first grade in Manchester. After touring the state, I was promoted to teaching fourth and fifth grade and then to principal at the Saint Joseph Cathedral School in Hartford. After eight years as principal, I “retired” and went back to Manchester and taught religion in grades 3, 4 and 5 for a few more years. Most of my teaching was in the inner cities among children who really needed God’s presence in their lives. I thank God for the many years of service that allowed me to plant the seeds of his love. I am now teaching at Jubilee House, helping adult learners from other cultures to learn English. God is good!
