The Archives of the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas steward a variety of materials: archives, library, and heritage collections. Through these rich collections, there are innumerable opportunities for sisters, researchers, genealogists and the general public to learn more of the complex story of Mercy.

Staff across the Archives, as well as sisters of the Community, continue to collect and synthesize important historical materials to broaden the understanding of the continuing international impact of the Sisters of Mercy.

While collecting is vital to preserving the Mercy story, providing a variety of access points to the material held across our repositories is the ultimate goal. The creation of new programs, projects and initiatives is one primary way this is accomplished.
